• Should have good in-depth product knowledge.
• Should have ability to manage the entire merchandising process from development to shipping.
• Should have ability to coordinate with design, PD and vendors for sample developments and costings.
• Should liaison with supplier to manage material sourcing, costing/ margins and order placements.
• Ensure daily accurate communications between vendors & teams to ensure quality and on time delivery.
• Ability to explore and grow the vendor bases to grow the product categories with the buyers.
• Timely order follow up with vendors as per the T & A and maintaining data files accurately for status review.
• Work closely with the Planning /Compliance/QA Teams to place and monitor progress of the orders.
• Work with Logistics team to ensure timely dispatch and deliveries.

Profile and skills required:

• Good Product Knowledge
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Ability to understand the different markets and secure customer’s confidence 
• Must be very proficient in MS office including in-depth knowledge of excel and power point.
• Should have a decision making and solution oriented approach. 
• Previous buying office experience is a plus.
• Must have handled woven and knits categories for both Domestic and International brands/retailers.
